Limassol-based bookseller The Shopkeeper & Co. returns to Anassa with its popular pop-up book shop. Located in the Lobby next to the entrance to Armonia bar, the shop will feature a generous selection of illustrated books focusing on the arts, design, and travel. From German art book publisher Taschen come lavishly illustrated travel titles in the Great Escapes, Living In, and New York Times Explorer series; another notable book from Taschen is 100 Getaways around the World. Assouline, touted by Women’s Wear Daily as “the fashion crowd’s favourite book publisher,” is represented by Mykonos Muse (an exploration of the Greek island’s influence on art and design) and Travels with Chufi: Confidential Destinations (in which influencer Sofía Sanchez de Batak introduces travellers to hidden gems). The shop is open on two weekends, June 15-17 and July 13-15. On Saturdays at 11:00, the Shopkeeper & Co. is presenting a special kids’ activity in the Explorers Club. The game is inspired by The Giant Game of Sculpture, a children’s book written and illustrated by Hervé Tullet and published by Phaidon. The book itself opens to reveal pop-out cards that can be inserted into slots and embellished with other materials to form a sculpture. We will duplicate that game on a grand scale, working as a group for one hour to assemble a giant sculpture.
