What Is Thalassotherapy?

Thalassa is the Greek word for ‘sea’ and, appropriately, forms the root for naming a kind of treatment featured at Anassa’s Thalassa Spa: thalassotherapy. We pump mineral-rich water directly from the sea to the spa, where it is heated for use in our jetted exercise pool. We also harness the restorative powers of the sea water and elements of the marine environment (seaweed, mud, coconut oil) in an array of treatments. Consider a relaxing soak in a jetted tub: the Osea Malibu Lavender Soak combines sea water with additional sea salt and lavender oil to soothe body and mind, whilst the Osea Detox Algae Bath mixes in algae oil to detoxify the body, reduce water retention, and soothe muscles. A session under our Thalasso Affusion Shower will relax your nervous system, improve blood circulation, and reduce inflammation. You lie on a towel-covered bed as the warm water gently sprays over you. Though most thalassotherapy treatments are gentle, thalassotherapy can literally be a blast—in our Thalasso Jet Shower. Here, our therapist uses a powerful jet hose to relax your muscles and reduce cellulite. You first stand facing the wall as the therapist sprays your feet, the backs of your legs, and your back. Then you face sideways as the sides of your legs and arms are treated. Finally, you face forward as the hands, chest, and stomach are sprayed. This invigorating treatment boosts circulation, promotes lymphatic drainage, and recharges the immune system. Contact the spa on 26888221 to schedule your treatment.
