Armonia Bar at Anassa Hotel - The Anatomy of a Stunning Pizza

This iconic terrace, a dreamy place, that unfolds before you, overlooking the entire Polis Chrysochou Bay and the Akamas National Forest Park, is also home to the Armonia bar at Anassa hotel.

A bar where you can savor signature cocktails, a glass of champagne, selected bites, dishes, and, of course, authentic Italian pizza that has recently made its debut on the bar’s menu and beyond. We used to see this pizza proudly arrive in cardboard boxes on the beach, by the pool, or “traveling” to the rooms (room service), with comments we had already collected being highly complimentary.

At lunchtime, seeking something lighter, quick, and sharing, we find ourselves lounging on one of the comfortable sofas at the bar, studying the menu with its 13 pizza options for all palates, the duo of calzones, and the 3+1 proposals for sweet pizzas that, from what we’ve heard, have been delightful.

We also seek the approval of our courteous waiter, ultimately settling on the Wagyu and Truffle pizza. With cold beer in our glasses, we enjoy the breathtaking view in front of us, with tourist boats heading towards the Baths of Aphrodite and beyond.

The arrival of the fragrant thin-crust pizza, brings our attention back to our beautifully set table and, of course, to the splendid presentation of executive chef David Goodridge and his team. Crispy perimeter crust, beautifully baked, but above all, fluffy, perfectly thick base, baked at the ideal time on a state-of-the-art specialized pizza oven with a rotating stone plate.

And what were those ingredients? A combination of slow-cooked short ribs from top-quality Wagyu beef, beloved fior di latte cheese, infused with aromas, Italian tomato sauce, yellow cherry tomatoes, all covered with premium Jamon Serano naturally placed after baking, Parmesan shavings, and an abundance of finely grated black truffle.

Every bite was a journey to Italy. Every bite and a comment of admiration. Naturally, there was not a trace left on our plate, but as we departed, we noted a few more pizza option to gastronomically explore different places in Italy, with different ingredients and unique flavor combinations, all while experiencing the magic of Cyprus from the enchanting Anassa Hotel.
